What Is Ham Radio?

On these pages you will learn about who we are and what amateur radio is all about. We serve all of Stutsman County ND. We also have members that live in Logan, McIntosh, and LaMoure Counties. We provide severe weather reports and emergency management information to local media, public service, and civil defense agencies.

We also have a lot of fun and get a lot of enjoyment from our hobby. We not only communicate with each other, but with other radio operators around the world. Ham radio is a very interesting hobby and is open to people of all ages.

We hope you enjoy our site and visit some of the many amateur radio related links we have provided. Please feel free to attend one of our meetings or drop us an email if you are interested in starting a rewarding new hobby!

We are now conducting a weekly repeater net Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM Central with a revolving net control, to allow individuals the opportunity to experience how a controlled net works. If you’re interested in being a net control operator, please get in touch with us.

Directly following the repeater net, locally we are running a simplex net on 146.520, allowing individuals to test out their equipment. We encourage handheld usage during the nets, this is to show each individual how well their equipment is working and tweak things as needed.
