EchoLink Node

The Jamestown, North Dakota area now has a non-sanctioned EchoLink node. This means that the node is run by a club member, but has not been “approved” or supported by the Jamestown Amateur Radio Club. The node is temporarily (experimental) linked through the 147.180MHz (WØFX) repeater. While linked through the repeater, there will be no cross-linking initiated, and no external conferences will be connected. If another Echolink user does any unauthorized cross-linking, they will be disconnected, ASAP.

At various times, the node will be linked to a simplex frequency, rather than the repeater. This will usually happen when there is a “net” on EchoLink, or when the node is linked to a busier conference or repeater. In order to listen and talk on the node, just go to 146.460 MHz simplex. (Alternatively on 445.975 MHz)

The EchoLink node number is 964966 and listed as ND0TS-R.

The frequencies are continually monitored, when they are connected. It was implemented on February 1, 2018. Enhancements may come in the future.

The node connects to various conferences, IRLP nodes, and repeaters. You can visit this page and search for nd0ts-r (or 964966) to see what node (or nodes) it’s connected to. There can be quite a bit of activity on the node, and there are various nets that can be listened to and checked in to (listed on the calendar). Most of the time, the node will be connected to *DODROPIN*, and other conferences and nodes will connect to that, as well.

The node transmits and receives in a roughly 5 mile radius around downtown Jamestown, covering about 75 square miles. It should be accessible from anywhere around town. Any questions or comments about this node should be directed to NDØTS.
